Facilities at the school include an administration building, library with staff centre, sports centre and performing arts building with a capacity of 300 seats. The performing arts complex is also the Innisfail community cyclone shelter.

The campus also has refurbished TAFE buildings that have been extensively remodelled to provide modern and contemporary learning spaces.

The school provides education and training for special school students (pre-prep to Year 12) at the Diverse Learning Centre, secondary schooling students (years 7-12) and TAFE training for adult students.

The Johnstone TAFE and Community Childcare Centre is also located on college grounds. This is operated independently from the school and can be accessed via the school's southern carpark. For any enquiries related to the Childcare centre please call them directly on (07) 4061 7051.

The Science department offers dedicated Science learning spaces that are larger and more flexible, with the Science laboratories being the first in Australia to have been completed under the BER project. It also offers dedicated Agriculture and Aquaponics learning areas.

The Hospitality learning areas include fully equipped junior and senior kitchens and restaurant with fully equipped bar. The Peppertree Restaurant provides opportunities for students to undertake industry-recognised training qualifications to better equip them for employment opportunities.

Industrial Design and Technology learning areas include dedicated metal and woodworking workshops giving students opportunities to undertake practical lessons using industry-approved equipment, including metal and wood lathes, welders and guillotines.

The Health Trade Training Centre offers students the opportunity to gain qualifications in a range of Health areas.

The ISC Connect building is used for programs that allow students alternative education opportunities while remaining on campus.

In 2020 our parent and bus drop off / pick up zones were upgraded. This project was successful through obtaining a Transport and Main Roads grant in conjunction with the Cassowary Coast Regional Council. All works provide a safer flow of traffic in and around the school.

In 2022 we became involved in the FlexiSpace initiative. FlexiSpaces are designed to support schools to provide a differentiated environment for students who are experiencing challenges. These spaces are inclusive, high-quality built environments, with high-impact teaching and learning. FlexiSpaces aim to re-integrate students into their mainstream settings. During 2023, our FlexiSpace refurbishment has been completed and will open in 2024.

During 2023 we have allocated financial and human resources to provide an alternate opportunity for students pending suspension through providing an off-campus facility. We undertook a refurbishment of the unused Innisfail State School Preschool building and our ISC@Rankin facility is providing successful transition back to school.

To accommodate our growing number of teaching staff and to ensure their wellbeing, our C Block staffroom will undergo expansion work during the 2023 Summer break ready for 2024 school year.

As part of gaining funding under the Refresh program we have refurbished and modernised two sets of amenities along with gutters and downpipes, and this work is ongoing.
