Held over three days (May 19, 20 and 21) the Malanda Cattle Handling and Judging event provides expert and hands-on education in all aspects of cattle handling and judging. Innisfail State College students, cattle and staff benefited from the industry leaders who were more than willing to pass on their wisdom. Culminating events include cattle judging, where students have a selection of cattle they have to judge and then address the audience to outline their reasoning. Public speaking is a challenge, particularly with a microphone and many people watching. All students did a fantastic job. Students also prepare and then parade the cattle under the scrutiny of the judges. Innisfail students and cattle shone. The Malanda cattle handling school is growing – this year seven schools were present.  Full credit to the Malanda Show Society for co-ordinating the event and looking after everyone so well and the thank you to the sponsors.
