Two year 12 students studying the Certificate II in Kitchen Operations have been accepted into the highly regarded Gateway to Industry (Hospitality and Tourism) Work Experience Program at the 5-star Royal Pines Resort. Mai Vang and Jamie Scotter will travel to the Gold Coast during the first week of school holidays to participate in this three-day program which is designed to provide secondary school students with practical experience while working in a 'real' hospitality environment. The focus of the program is to expose students to work in a variety of hospitality related job roles by completing work rotations in four operational work areas.
Mai and Jamie were two of only 10 students selected from regional high schools across Queensland.
Congratulations Jamie & Mai.
