Eighteen students were fortunate to visit the Mourilyan Sugar Museum last week to learn about the sugar industry, leading to the possibility of doing work experience at the South Johnstone mill. Students were shown around the museum before heading into the careers expo. There were several stalls manned by South Johnstone mill employees, research corporation staff and training organisations where students could ask questions about different career opportunities available at the mill. Students are now able to apply to do work experience at the mill in various fields including electrical, fitting and turning, diesel fitting and boiler making.
Thanks you to the team at MSF Sugar for hosting this event.
