In Week 8 of Term 1, 2023, Innisfail State College Arts Department presented Popstars - The 90's Musical. Featuring your favourite pop hits from the 90's, Innisfail State College's production of Popstars - The 90's Musical was the show of the year!
Innisfail State College presented four shows total, with 3 show nights plus a matinee presented to the local primary schools.
The Innisfail State College Student Council hosted a canteen of drinks and snacks for audience members with funds going back into student council and school events, while the Instrumental Music team raffled a 100s board to subsidise instrumental music camps and excursions.
The show received rave reviews from audience members, who came from as far north as cairns to watch Innisfail State College students perform.
Popstars!: The 90's Musical Synopsis
Set in the 1990s, Mark is head over heels in love with his girlfriend, the Queen Bee, Shannon Van de Witt. When Shannon learns that pop-band impresario Simon Austin is the surprise judge at the State Talent Show she dumps Mark for her chance at showbiz stardom. The ultimate boy band vs girl band competition begins!
